How to simplify your life
DECLUTTER
Seeing yourself clearly
So you've carved out time to be alone, cleared your schedule, slowed down, stilled the muddy waters in order to see clearly who you really are and what drives your life.
And now that the mud has settled, you see that you're actually faced with so many adopted philosophies, opinions, beliefs, conflicting research and contradicting ideas of what health, love and success looks like. No wonder you're still confused!
Which vaccine to take? And when? Which diet plan to try out, keto, paleo, vegan? Which philosophy to gravitate towards, buddhism, christianity, astrology or none? Which yoga style to choose, vinyasa, hatha, ashtanga, hot, yin? Which healing to choose, chiro, osteo, TCM, Ayurveda? What parenting approach to live by?
I feel that way too! Sometimes having easy access to that much information works against us, and so the practice of simplifying our lives becomes all the more crucial in our attempts to de-stress and live a happy life.
How to return to your authentic self
A large chunk of your journey is about accessing your inner wisdom.
Step 1: Body-awareness
I find myself harping on this the most.
Do you respect your body’s physical limits during exercise?
Do you trust your body's own healing abilities?
Do you distract away certain emotions like anger/frustration/sadness/guilt?
Step 2: Anchor yourself to the present
You're no longer stewing in regret of the past, or fretting with anxiety for the future, but accepting of where you are right now. *I write a lot on Acceptance, refer to the previous emails or stay tuned for more!
Step 3: Get in touch with your intuition
Inner compass, inner wisdom.
And in order for that intuition muscle to grow, you gotta use it! Take swift action big or small based on that intuition. If it turns out 'wrong', then try again. With practice and time you'll be able to better differentiate between intuition and a wounded-response.
The difference is that intuition comes off as a subtle neutral nudge, instead of an urgent contractive compulsion.
Who are you really
Choosing authenticity again and again will bring you a deep sense of purpose, as you finally taste the freedom of being your true self, which by the way, is an expression of (God's) love.
LOVE FREEDOM TRUTH
Being authentic is about being true, when the inner you matches the outer you. You can't do that when you're laden with a collage of everyone else's beliefs and ideas.
